Yann Demange’s Short Dammi Heading To MUBI, Watch Clip

Niche production and Streaming service MUBI have announced they will be releasing French Filmmaker Yann Demange’s short Dammi next month on the channel.
The short film has been doing the rounds at the film festival circuit since 2023. Making it’s World Premiere at the 2023 Locarno Film Festival and its North American Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Demange (’71, Top Boy) co-directed Dammi with Rosa Attab, starring Riz Ahmed (Sound of Metal), and Souheila Yacoub (Dune: Part Two, Climax). The film tells the story of a man (Ahmed) returning back to Paris to reconnect with his father. Taking him on a journey of reflection as much as exploring his identity and roots.
MUBI have sent us a short clip from the film, check it out…
A man (Riz Ahmed) returns to his native Paris in search of a connection with his estranged father (Yousfi Henine). This personal journey through memories of his past and surreal fragments of the present opens new pathways to explore his identity and recover his roots.
The rest of the short film cast includes Yousfi Henine and features the participation of Academy Award® nominee Isabelle Adjani (Possession, Camille Claudel) and César Award nominee Sandor Funtek (Blue is the Warmest Colour, Dheepan).
You can watch Dammi in it’s entirety on MUBI from 12th July.
