There’s no denying that vampires have well and truly sunk their teeth into our popular culture. They can be cool or evil, sexy or funny, but their immortality and thirst for blood is constant. With a welcome fresh take on vampire genre arriving in the shape of Neil Jordan’s Byzantium in cinemas 31st May , we’ve decided to plot some of the most famous vampires (and some you might not know) onto a ‘Vampire Matrix’ – to show just how sexy, evil, cool, or funny they are. From the comically evil Mr. Burns in The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror, to super sexy Clara (Gemma Arteton) and ultra cool Eleanor (Saoirse Ronan), our table shows you which vampires you could accompany for a drink, and which will try to drink you.

Synopsis

Two mysterious women seek refuge in a run-down coastal resort. Clara meets lonely Noel, who provides shelter in his deserted guesthouse, Byzantium. Schoolgirl Eleanor befriends Frank and tells him their lethal secret. They were born 200 years ago and survive on human blood. As knowledge of their secret spreads, their past catches up on them with deathly consequence.
