West Side Story Second Trailer Is Grandiose And Vibrant

We’re entering the last part of 2021 and it’s hard to believe many of those films that have been continuously delayed are now one step closer to been finally released. Like Steven Spielberg’s version of the classic musical West Side Story and today 20th Century Studios unearth a brand new second UK Trailer. A trailer that’s grandiose, vibrant which showcases those much loved songs from the original!
Fans of the original, their grins will be getting even bigger after watching this new promo. The songs, the intense dancing/fighting and the colours, looks, sounds with cinematography reflects New York especially during the era of the films. To give it’s authenticity Rita Morena the original Anita makes a starring role in the new version too!
Our star crossed lovers Tony and Maria are played by Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler. Young love stuck in the middle of gang rivalry in 1950’s New York City between the Sharks and the Jets.
Whatever happens critically, musicals can be hard sells as not every cinephile likes them. Going by the number of musicals we have already had this year plus this being a ion project for Spielberg, this one looks like it could be a winner!
Teenagers Tony (Ansel Elgort) and Maria (Rachel Zegler), despite having affiliations with rival street gangs, the Jets and Sharks, fall in love in 1950s New York City. An adaptation of the 1957 musical, West Side Story explores forbidden love and the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks.
This new version of the film also stars David Alvarez, Mike Faist, Corey Stoll, Brian d’Arcy James, Curtiss Cook. Along with Ana Isabelle, Ezra Menas, Ben Cook, Sean Harrison Jones, Patrick Higgins. Julius Anthony Rubio, Ricardo Zayas, Josh Andrés Rivera, Sebastian Serra and Carlos Sánchez Falú.
West Side Story is set for an UK, Irish and US cinemas from 10th December.
