There’s been many great prison break films over the years, what makes some extra special is ones based on a true story. David Albala‘s Jailbreak (Jailbreak Pact it’s U.S title) is one of those films and tonight we get a look at the film’s UK Trailer and one of the most daring escapes!

Pacto de Fuga (the film’s original Chilean title) tells the true story set in 1990 and the final days of General Augusto Pinochet’s tyrannical regime. 120 political prisoners are held in Santiago Prison risk their lives planned a daring escape. Operación Éxito (“Operation Success“) took two years for them to escape under the noses of the guards.

This film came out in Chiles just before Covid-19 decimated the world closing down life. This film ended up the country’s biggest box office hit in 2020, sign us up!

Based on unbelievable historical events and one of the world’s most renowned prison escapes that led to the fall of Chile’s, then, brutal dictator Augusto Pinochet. Jailbreak follows the incredible and heroic story of a group of prisoners at a Santiago jail who dug a 80meter long tunnel, over 18 months, using spoons and one screwdriver.
The freedom fighters moved more than 55 tons of dirt, right under the nose of the prison guards without being caught in a bid for freedom not only for the prisoners, but for their country – resulting in the most daring prison escape in history.
