With American presidential about to kick off tomorrow it’s going to be dominating news channels not just in the states but worldwide, so what better time to launch a new trailer for Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln. Today the UK version of the trailer has been launched which compared to it’s American trailer this simply a superior trailer showing off more of the all star ensembled cast previously unseen in the first trailer (including Tommy Lee Jones) also another reason why this film will be challenging for Oscar glory.

This trailer shows plenty of new footage with the focus Abraham Lincoln’s struggle to the 13th Amendment during the American Civil War  with a call for equality .This trailer really does expand on what direction Spielberg will take this film with the votes Lincoln had to get to abolish the slavery bill.   Daniel Day Lewis plays the titular role of the 16th President of the United States of America  and if DDL delivers a performance at the level of intensity he gave in There Will Be Blood it could be an easy choice who’ll win best actor at February’s Oscars.

Early have been fantastic and this Friday 9th November the film gets a limited released in USA with a full release on 16th but here in UK&Ireland we’ve got a slightly longer wait of January 25th, 2013. Epic ensembled cast for this one with Joesph Gordon Levitt, David Oyelowo, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, James Spader, John Hawkes, Michael Stuhlbarg, David Strathairn, Walton Goggins, Tim Blake Nelson, Bruce McGill, Jackie Earle Haley, Lee Pace and Jared Harris.

*update 6th November 2012 – A Big thanks to Twentieth Century Fox UK for sending us a UK version of this trailer*

Steven Spielberg directs two-time Academy Award® winner Daniel Day-Lewis in “Lincoln,” a revealing drama that focuses on the 16th President’s tumultuous final months in office. In a nation divided by war and the strong winds of change, Lincoln pursues a course of action designed to end the war, unite the country and abolish slavery. With the moral courage and fierce determination to succeed, his choices during this critical moment will change the fate of generations to come.
