Learning is fun, so is how you approach educating yourself. Altitude Films have released the motivational UK Trailer for Mexican drama Radical starring Eugenio Derbez ...It’s a true story!
This film premiered away back at Sundance Film Festival in 2023. Touring the festival circuit globally including Glasgow Film Festival back in March. The reviews of for Christopher Zalla‘s film have been very good, winning it a ‘Festival Favourite Award’ at Sundance.
In Radical, Derbez plays Sergio Juárez Correa, a teacher at a border town in Mexico. Frustrated on the way the education system is, Sergio decides to think outside the box. Coming up with a new, ‘radical’ way of educating the kids unleashing their full potential. This is a true story based in a town plagued with corruption and violence.
Unfortunately due to scheduling , I was unable to watch this film at Glasgow Film Festival. The response was good and now I’ll be able to watch the film next month. The kids need diversity as much as the basics and I do wish we had a teacher like Sergio maybe my life may have been different.
Based on a true story, a frustrated teacher, Sergio Juárez Correa, tries a radical new method to break through to his students’ apathy and unlock their curiosity, potential, and maybe even nurture a genius. Set in Mexico, in a border town plagued by neglect, corruption, and violence, this is a story of inspiration, discovery and hope.
Radical also stars Daniel Haddad, with a number of non professional young actors as the students. You can watch this film in UK and Irish cinemas from 9th August.
