Watch The Haunting UK Trailer For Lucile Hadzihalilovic’s Earwig

Anti-World Releasing have released the haunting Official UK Trailer for Lucile Hadzihalilovic’s Earwig.
The film is based on the novel by Brian Catlin and marks the English Language debut for the filmmaker. We find ourselves in the mid 20th Century somewhere in Europe. Mia a ten year old girl with ice teeth who never leaves her home. She lives with Albert who is her caretaker who is instructed to prepare the girl to leave her home.
Early on, we see Mia with braces and draining of liquid which looks like something she must do regularly. What is the importance of that liquid? Who is calling about the girl’s wellbeing? If you have seen an Hadzihalilovic (who also is Gaspar Noe‘s partner) film you know it will be an unique genre experience. We watched her last film Evolution at 2015 Glasgow Film Festival calling it “an darkly poetic, beautifully haunting mind blowing visceral experience“.
