This Friday we can finally see if Taylor Kitsch really is John Carter of Earth as Andrew Stanton’s JOHN CARTER arrives at your favourite multiplex or indie cinema. Hopefully the trailers, tv spots, clips we’ve posted here at The People’s Movies have hopefully helped decide if a visit to Barsoom (or Mars) is worthy of your time next weekend but if you need a extra look Disney have unleashed a extra help with a new extended clip.

We now have a ten minute scene which wont show of more John Carter battle scenes on Barsoom but focus more on the opening of the film when John meets his young nephew.His nephew just happens to be Edgar Rice Burroughs we know is the original writer of the John Carter novels (as well as Conan The Barbarian, Tarzan, Solomon Kane), he is given his uncles journals and we’ll assume the story is the young Burrough’s reading the journals?
