Warner Bros Brad Pitt For Doug Liman’s All You Need Is Kill And David O.Russell’s The Mission

Whilst Brad Pitt hunts  for the source of the World War Z and in USA Moneyball hits American cinemas his next possible projects are on the agenda and   Vulture  have 2 suggestions.

They are reporting Warner Bros want Pitt to star in Doug Liman’s All You Need Is Kill which is to be an adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s manga of the same name, a story about a young soldier who gets killed on the first day of an alien invasion only to be be ressurected over and over again  only to become the better soldier. Though the story does sound a intriguing concept it does have a heavy dose of Source Code in it  with big helpings of  Groundhog Day, with Dante Harper on scripting duties with the apparent third act problems now resolved .  This is certainly not a project Warner Bros want lying somewhere gathering dust especially when they forked out a seven figure sum to buy the rights, these days everyone wants Brad Pitt in their flicks so this will probably start rolling when Brad gets a spare few months. With All You Need Is Kill now moving this project has fired the final nail in the coffins for Liman’s other project Luna with  financing been the biggest concern with a reported $100million plus budget for the Space Heist flick which Skydance the financier’s  pulling the plug.Everyone from Andrew Garfield, Emile Hirsch and Chris Pine were being considered for the male lead, with Rosario Dawson, Megan Fox, Rachel McAdams, Eva Mendes, Zoe Saldana and Olivia Wilde for the girls lead.

Warner Bros don’t want to stop at Doug Liman’s groundhog soldier flick they also want Pitt for David O’Russells The Mission based on a Navy Seal’s 6 year mission to rescue 15 American hostages from Columbian rebels (FARC). It’s reported that O.Russell wants to make this movie after he directs The Silver Linings Playbooks but the director is a little bit like Pitt at the moment as he’s connected to a 1001 projects so things could change especially when they still talk about a follow up to his last movie. Let’s get one thing clear if any of the above is true don’t expect Brad Pitt to commit to any new projects until he’s finished with World War Z, the second point is no one is in negotiations, this is just a case  its what Warner Bros wants, no concrete proof anything’s been offered, what a studio wants is completely different from what actually does happen for now Brad Pitt is at the peak  he’s at the furtherest he can go so rejecting these movies wont don any harm to him
