War On The Horizon In First Chief Of War Trailer
Apple TV+ have unveiled the official Teaser Trailer for historical drama Chief Of War. Starring Jason Momoa and it looks like the islands are divided and war is on the horizon.
This is set amidst the beautiful backdrop of the islands of Hawai‘i, the nine-episode series based on true events. It follows warrior Ka’iana, portrayed by Momoa, as he tries to unify the islands before Western colonization in the late 18th century.
This looks epic and the mix of massive battle scenes that some call it bigger than ‘The Game Of Thrones‘. The question is, the series was fictional and Chief Of War is based on real historical events and characters. Rarely do we get something from Hawaii that is based on the past which is intriguing, immense stuff…
Told from an indigenous perspective, “Chief of War” is a ion project for creators, Momoa and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, who both share native Hawaiian heritage.
The cast also includes Luciane Buchanan, Temuera Morrison, Te Ao o Hinepehinga, Cliff Curtis, newcomer Kaina Makua, Moses Goods, Siua Ikale’o, Brandon Finn, James Udom, Mainei Kinimaka and Te Kohe Tuhaka.
Chief Of War will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on 1st August.
