Viggo Mortensen’s The Dead Don’t Hurt Gets A UK Trailer

Vengeance or forgiveness is on the cards in the official UK Trailer for Viggo Mortensen‘s indie western, The Dead Don’t Hurt.

Next month Signature Entertainment will release the film in UK cinemas. Today we get the promo for what is Falling (2020) his debut. The film has been picking up strong reviews since it’s debut at Toronto in 2023 right through to it’s UK premiere at Glasgow which Viggo was in attendance.

The Dead Don’t Hurt stars Vicky Krieps as Vivienne, a French Canadian who attempts to rebuild her life in the Old West. She starts a relationship with Danish immigrant Holger Olsen (Mortensen), who signs up for American Civil War. Despite Vivienne not happy in Holger’s decision, she is left to defend herself from the corruption that plagues the town they live next to. When something terrible happens, Holger plans revenge.

Viggo Mortensen heads back to the 1860s for this moving romantic Western. Vicky Krieps stars as French-Canadian Vivenne, who falls for Danish immigrant Holger Olsen (Mortensen). The pair move to a frontier town in Nevada as the threat of the Civil War looms. When Holger decides to fight for the Union, Vivienne faces serious threats on the homefront, courtesy of the town’s corrupt mayor (Danny Huston), his rancher business partner (Garret Dillahunt) and the rancher’s violent son (Solly McLeod). Starring Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings), Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread), Solly McLeod (Tom Jones), Colin Morgan (Merlin), Danny Huston (The Constant Gardener) and Garret Dillahunt (No Country for Old Men) The Dead Don’t Hurt is written and directed by Viggo Mortensen.

The Dead Don’t Hurt also stars Solly McLeod, Colin Morgan, Danny Huston and Garret Dillahunt. Signature Entertainment will release the film in UK and Irish cinemas from 7th June.
