UK Trailer For End Of Watch

With 2012 Toronto Film Festival now entering it’s final days film fans, critics a like now reflecting on those films that have played, one of the unexpected success stories has to be David Ayer’s End Of Watch.A girtty police drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal , Michael Pena some are now calling a love letter to police dramas and with the American release of the film only days away tonight the Official UK trailer has now been released.

Police officers Taylor (Jake Gyllenhaal, SOURCE CODE) and Zavala (Michael Peña, CRASH) are partners and best friends. A night-school student in film production, Taylor affixes tiny cameras to his and Zavala’s uniforms to record their daily routines, collecting material for a short video about the real lives of the LAPD. Life is good — until a seemingly routine vehicle check finds the pair stepping on the toes of powerful drug traffickers.

David Ayer (TRAINING DAY) writes and directs this high-octane crime film, which is adrenaline-fuelled, throat-grabbingly suspenseful, and one hell of a thrill ride.

When on paper then thinking back to what films David Ayer has directed End of Watch may put some cinephiles off and when you bring ‘found footage’ into the equation that maybe the final straw. Earlier this year Joe Carnahan another director with a disappointing track record brought us the unexpected hit The Grey, so give Ayer’s a chance like we are at The People’s Movies. As the word from the festival may not be 100% perfect but it’s still excellent, very intense and the ‘hand held’ camera style is meant to be more real time than found footage.

End of Watch will arrive in UK&Ireland November 23rd,but arriving first in USA September 21st. The film also stars Anna Kendrick, Natalie Martinez, Frank Grillo, America Ferrera, Cody Horn, and David Harbour.
