Together trailer horrifically fuses Alison Brie and David Franco

If last year’s Oscar-winning The Substance wasn’t icky enough for you, Together should fit the bill. The flesh-morphing new body horror allegory is generating serious buzz ahead of its release date this year. As if on cue, a fresh (or should that be flesh) trailer has arrived to prime you for some unsavoury delights.
Real-life couple Alison Brie (GLOW) and Dave Franco (Now You See Me) play spouses Millie and Tim. Outwardly, everything seems normal, although school teacher Millie is feeling some distance from her aspiring musician husband. However, when they move to a small town to accomodate Millie’s new teaching position, they’re soon bonded together in more ways than one.
Falling under the influence of bizarre forces, Millie and Tim’s relationship soon becomes a savage, grisly satire on co-dependency and the old adage ’till death do us part’. The film is the directorial debut of Australian filmmaker Michael Shanks, who wears his John Carpenter influences gloriously on his sleeve.
It’s the latest production from Neon, the byword in hip, transgressive indie horror. Recent hits include the Osgood Perkins double-bill of Longlegs and The Monkey, Presence, Cuckoo, Immaculate ,and Infinity Pool.
Currently rated 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, Together has received critical acclaim since debuting at the Midnight section of the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. The Hollywood Reporter describes it as ‘A perversely fleshed-out gross-out with a sicko heart’. That should be more than enough to get genre fans excited.
Together is released in the UK on July 30th.
