Things Are Complexed In Pedro Almodóvar’s Strange Way Of Life First Trailer

Things are complexed in the first UK Trailer for Pedro Almodóvar‘s Strange Way Of Life.
Pathé UK have launched the first promo for the Spanish auteur’s queer western starring The Human Voice starring Tilda Swinton the other film.
Pascal seems to be the man of the moment after his stint of The Last Of Us, he’s also The Mandalorian. Fans of the actor will be delighted their favourite actor will be returning to the big screen this year.
For this one this looks a straightforward narrative but sometimes words can’t truly describe what’s really going on. The leading men play old friends, when Silva (Pascal) comes visiting the sheriff (Hawke), a friend from his youth. What starts a delightful reunion, tensions rise the following day and something unresolved lies in the background.
Melodramatic, gorgeous and could this be very similar narrative to Ang Lee’s Brokeback Mountain? Traditional masculinity might be on the dock here, first verdict coming next month at it’s Cannes World premiere.
A man rides a horse across the desert that separates him from Bitter Creek. He comes to visit Sheriff Jake. Twenty-five years earlier, both the sheriff and Silva, the rancher who rides out to meet him, worked together as hired gunmen. Silva visits him with the excuse of reuniting with his friend from his youth, and they do indeed celebrate their meeting, but the next morning Sheriff Jake tells him that the reason for his trip is not to go down the memory lane of their old friendship….
The film’s cast also includes Manu Ríos, Jason Fernández, José Condessa, Pedro Casablanc, Daniel Rived, and Erenice Lohan. Strange Way Of Life will be released in UK and Irish cinemas later this year.
