The UK Trailer For Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy And The Heron

Will it be or will there be another one? No denying it Hayao Miyazaki is a animation legend and Studio Ghibli an iconic anime studio, next month The Boy And The Heron will arrive in UK cinemas. Today Elysian Film Group have released the film’s UK Trailer, the question is, will this be Miyazaki-san’s final film?
Last month the film made it’s UK Premiere, to some very good reviews, our review will be released close to release date. This film is the second Studio Ghibli film to be released by Elysian Film Group, the other Earwig And The Witch. Miyazaki has been the heart of the iconic studio alongside Isao Takahata and Toshio Suzuki which is now owned by Nippon TV.
Visually this looks like the studio stepping away from the full CGI to more traditional animation. It looks captivating, vibrant and it’s the directors 11th film that has been in production for a decade.
During second world war, young boy Mahito Maki’s family suffer tragedy. His father makes planes for the Japanese army. He thrives for his mother and gets an opportunity to venture into the world which the living and dead share.
A young boy named Mahito yearning for his mother ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead. There, death comes to an end, and life finds a new beginning.
A semi-autobiographical fantasy about life, death, and creation, in tribute to friendship, from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki.
The Boy And The Heron will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from Boxing Day, 26th December.
