The Third Man Heading Back To UK Cinemas In 4K!
Carol Reed’s classic Film Noir celebrates it’s 75th Anniversary, 4K Collectors Edition coming this Autumn!

Carol Reed’s The Third Man is considered a masterpiece in cinema and will be 75 years old next month. Studiocanal are set to give the Noir classic a UK cinema release in September, watch the new Trailer.
With technology able to beautifully restore those classic films to 4K, this opens a window of opportunity for new fans. The film seems to appear many cinephiles all time favourites with legendary actor Orson Welles. The actor was the star of many of those all time greats – Citizen’s Kane, Magnificent Ambersons and Touch Of Evil to name a few.
The Third Man is based in Graham Greene‘s novel, which follows an American novelist (Cotton) who heads to post war Vienna. Invited by his old friend Harry Lime (Welles) only to discover he has been mysteriously killed. He quickly learns a ‘third man’ was there when Harry died pushing him to find that person.
Holly Martins (Joseph Cotten), an American writer of pulp Westerns, arrives in a bombed-out, post-war Vienna at the invitation of his childhood friend Harry Lime (Orson Welles), only to find him recently dead. His suspicions are raised after learning of a ‘third man’ present at the time of Harry’s death, and butting up against interference from British police officer Major Calloway (Trevor Howard) and falling head-over-heels for Harry’s grief-stricken lover Anna (Alida Valli).
The film also stars Joseph Cotten, Alida Valli, Trevor Howard, Bernard Lee, Paul Hörbiger, and Ernst Deutsch. The Third Man will be back in UK and Irish cinemas from 6th September with a 4K Collectors Edition set for release in Autumn.
