First Trailer Lands For Wes Anderson’s Latest The Phoenician Scheme

Benicio del Toro and Mia Threapleton star in The Phoenician Scheme

Focus Features and Universal Pictures have released the first trailer for the new Wes Anderson film, titled The Phoenician Scheme, and you can watch it below!

Benicio del Toro stars as Zsa-zsa Korda, one of the richest men in Europe, and the film tells the story of “a family and a family business”. Mia Threapleton plays as Liesl, his daughter/a nun whilst Michael Cera also stars as Bjorn, their tutor. As ever, the ing cast is hefty and Anderson has called on frequent collaborators again including Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Mathieu Amalric, Richard Ayoade, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rupert Friend as well as Riz Ahmed, Hope Davis and many more, with rumoured appearances from Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Ethan Hawke.

The film is set for a limited U.S. theatrical release is set for May but it may well follow many other Anderson films and have its world premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, with the line-up for that announced on April 8th. Asteroid City and The French Dispatch premiered at the festival, for example.
