The Enterprise Beams into Superbowl With Star Trek Into Darkness TV Spot

We might not be American Football fans at The People’s Movies but we have to say from a cinematic perspective it’s one of our favourite nights when we have JJ Abrams Star Trek Into Darkness TV Spot to drool at!

If there’s any argument to say TV Spots are worth their weight in gold this spot  certainly proves it as it packs more punch than some full 2 minute trailers attempt to do but it does it in 30 seconds. Destructive, explosive, action packed but who is Benedict Cumberbatch playing? Khan?John Harrison? Klingon? or could he be Robert April a character who first appeared in the 1970’s animated version of Star Trek where he appears as the first captain of the Enterprise before Christopher Pike in a episode called ‘The Counter Clock incident’. In this episode all the crew start ageing but April found out how to reverse the process, the clue was also in the 9 minute Imax preview which he offers to help Noel Clarke’s daughter  who is rapidly ageing. However Peter Weller could be April leaving Cumberbatch’s character opened for more speculation.

Star Trek Into Darkness stars  Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Alice Eve, Peter Weller, Noel Clarke, and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film will transport into cinemas nationwide from star date  17th May 2013.

Synopsis

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.
