The Badass First Trailer For Andrew Dominik's Killing Them Softly

When I look back at it if I was to pick one film from this year’s Cannes Film Festival it’s got be Andrew Dominik’s Killing Them Softly starring Brad Pitt and check out the first badass trailer for the film.

Pitt stars as Jackie Coogan a mob enforcer who is hired to restore some order after a mob protected card game was robbed by 2 dumb thieves (Ben Mandelson & Scoot McNairy) whom Coogan will attempt to take out. Lot’s of strange characters and you would think with the type of plot Killing Them Softly has you would think there will be a lot of gun action, there is however the focus seems to be on the dialogue. This trailer is moody, lot of tone very stylish which you call the thinking person’s thriller or anti-thriller as some blogs are calling it. I’ve never seen Dominik’s previous film The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford nor Chopper (yes sigh shock!) but killing Them Softly has the makings of a badass film for grown ups rather than the generic crap that film studios think we enjoy.

Killing The Softly also stars James Gandolfini, Richard Jenkins, Bella Heathcote,Ray Liotta and Sam Shepard with the film arriving on UK&Irish shores September 20th.
