The 66th BFI London Film Festival Line-Up Strong Women And Retribution

The BFI has unveiled The 66th BFI London Film Festival Line-Up. They are thinking big for UK’s premiere Film festival, a celebration you will enjoy not just in London. But also around the UK, one that will have strong women and retribution.

Like every year we are teased with the  details of the opening and closing galas Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery closing gala. They will be ed by 164 films from around the world. With all films screening to UK audiences for the first time, including 23 World, 6 International, 15 European Premieres.

The number of films on show may not be up there with previous years. After 2021 compact version, the festival can only go one way and that is up. With the likes of Darren Aronofsky, Noah Baumbach, The Dardennes, Mia Hansen-Løve, Joanna Hogg, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Rian Johnson, Ruben Östlund, François Ozon, Park Chan-wook the only is UP!

Some of this year’s highlights include recently announced Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio. A brand new commission AR from acclaimed filmmaker Guy Maddin, Haunted Hotel: A Melodrama In Augmented Reality. International Premieres include She Said, starring Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan and based on the booked from New York Times journalists Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey. Major European Premieres include: Empire Of Light from Sam Mendes, Michael Grandage‘s My Policeman starring Emma Corrin, Harry Styles and Rupert Everett.

Netflix announced before it’s world premiere at Venice Alejandro González Iñárritu’s The Banshees Of Inisherin is a shimmering tale of friendship, feuds and Irish identity starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson.

We are so grateful to these artists for their incredible films, series and immersive works and can’t wait to share it with audiences.“
