Summer H. Howell Rumoured To Be The Lead In Flanagan’s Carrie Series

Actor Summer H. Howell is on the verge of being cast in the lead role of Mike Flanagan‘s Carrie TV series.
Negotiations are currently ongoing for Howell to the series, according to Variety.
Howell has previously appeared in Curse of Chucky (2013) and Cult of Chucky (2017), as well as Hunter Hunter and Clouds (2020). Her recent credits include All Fun and Games (2023) and Spirit in the Blood (2024).
This comes after Hereditary star Milly Shapiro was rumoured to be in talks for the character of Carrie White.
Though Amazon MGM has not formally announced the project, the adaptation was first reported in October 2024. Variety has stated that an official series announcement is “imminent”.
It will be written, directed, executive produced, and show run by Flanagan. Trevor Macy at Intrepid Pictures will also executive produce.
The series logline reads: “A bold and timely reimagining of the story of misfit high-schooler Carrie White, who has spent her life in seclusion with her domineering mother. After her father’s sudden and untimely death, Carrie finds herself contending with the alien landscape of public high school, a bullying scandal that shatters her community, and the emergence of mysterious telekinetic powers.”
