Solo Leveling wins Anime of the Year at Crunchyroll Anime Awards

Crunchyroll, have revealed the winners of the 2025 Anime Awards during a star-studded ceremony in Tokyo, Japan  honoring the creators, musicians, and performers of the global anime industry.

The Anime Awards were hosted for the third year in a row by voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira.

Like any awards be it the big and small screen, fans are eager to know who won the big awards. This year the Anime Of The Year went Solo Leveling,  which also picked up Best New Series, Best End Sequence. Also picking up the Best Action, Sung Jinwoo for Best Main Character, 9  awards in total.

During the ceremony, Attack on Titan was awarded the Anime Awards’ first Global Impact Award, which celebrates creators and works that have left a mark on the culture and history of anime. The final film Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK premiered in late 2024, marking the end of the longstanding, iconic anime. Yuichiro Hayashi from MAPPA accepted the award on behalf of the studio.

These are not just series, films or songs, but rather works of art that help define the identity of anime fans,” said Rahul Purini, President of Crunchyroll. “With an incredible 51 million votes this year, the 2025 Anime Awards are celebrating the creators in Japan who have captured the hearts of fans and are powering anime’s prominence in global pop culture.”
