Short Sunday Theatre – Wire Cutters

Wire Cutters

Wire Cutters

We’ve witnessed man versus man or man versus robot, but in Jack Anderson‘s Wire Cutters robot versus robot as their meeting leads to a fateful ending. In the latest edition of Short Sunday theatre  we go ying and yang as robots meets their perfect partner 3D animation…

Wire Cutters telling the tale of a chance encounter between two mining robots on a desolate planet,an encounter that has a fateful moment.

First impression of this cute little short film is this another Wall-E, you would be right but only in the styling and character design. Wire Cutters may have the charm of Pixar Studios and director Anderson talent shine through showcasing a potential talent for the studios. That is where the similarities end as this film has a darker undertone and on a virtually $0 budget this is a fantastic film on show, or as he called it…“$0 budget but thousands of hours of love and about a YEAR of rendering.”

Don’t let the cute eyes fool you as this is all about greed and self sabotage with an ending that’s cynicism as in life when something good happens to us we just seem to lose it and destroy everything.Wire Cutters is certainly a labour of love which you can now enjoy yourself
