Shaquille O’Neal Produced Foster Boy Getting UK Release

Foster Boy (2020)

The Movie Partnership have announced they are set to release the American indie legal drama, Foster Boy in the UK next month.

This legal drama, starring Matthew Modine (Stranger Things), Shane Paul McGhie (After We Collided). The film is based on writer Jay Paul Deratany‘s experiences as a trial lawyer fighting for child welfare in Chicago. NBA Hall Of Famer Shaquille O’Neal  is also onboard as the film’s executive Producer

The film’s deeply emotive plot follows the trial of a for-profit Foster care agency, who puts a known sex offender into the same foster home as a lawyer’s young client, Jamal, with catastrophic results. Each man heals the other in the pursuit of justice, as they expose the horrifying corrupt agency.

During the film’s Festival run, it picked 17 awards  all thanks to the films core topic, foster care in the States.  Looks like a story of empathy but most of all justice.

There’s no UK Trailer release, however here’s the American Trailer…

Michael Trainer (Matthew Modine) is a high-powered corporate lawyer, estranged from his family and his humanity; Jamal Randolph (Shane Paul McGhie) is an angry young man who has been imprisoned after enduring years of abuse in the corrupt foster care system. If Michael and Jamal can overcome their differences, they may find justice for Jamal and expose the immorality of for-profit foster care.

The film co-stars Louis Gosset Jr., Julie Benz, Brenda Bakke, Amy Brenneman, Michael Beach, and Greg Germann, with Youssef Delara directing.

Foster Boy will be available on Digital from 1st March in the UK and Ireland.
