Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark TV Spots Unearth Horror For Kids Or Is It?!

Scary Stories - Scarecrow

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark are one of those unique horror anthologies that are hard to pinpoint its actual targeted audience. The award winning books are mean’t to be aimed at teens/kids but when you closely look at them they bring fear into anyone who loves horror.

This year those terrifying tales are now creeping into cinema screens with Guillermo Del Toro producing and Alvin Schwartz (the anthology creator) directing. Today Entertainment One UK is testing our nerves with 4 unnerving, spine tingling short TV Spots.

Those who are familiar with the stories will be keen to see what tone the film will take. We’re not sure what rating here in the UK will be, over in the States its PG-13 which is roughly our 12A. For a horror that will be off putting for genre fans, however when you see the promos below, very good chance it will be rated 15!

It’s l968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind…but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying tome.

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark doesn’t have a UK or Irish Release date just yet. It still says ‘Coming Soon’, in the USA it seems to be August possibly 9th.

The film will also star Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Gabriel Rush, Austin Abrams, Dean Norris, Gil Bellows, and Lorraine Toussaint.
