Saturday Night First Trailer Embraces The Chaos Before SNL First Episode

The iconic Saturday Night Live is getting it’s own film. Sony Pictures have released the first UK Trailer for Jason Reitman‘s Saturday Night that embraces the chaos before SNL first episode.
Here in the UK we’ve never got the legendary comedy sketch show in it’s original shape or form. We know all about the comedians who graced the show Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase, John Belushi, Gilda Radner. All who used the show as a springboard into the world of comedy, television and film.
Saturday Night focuses in one part of the shows history, the 90 minutes that lead up to the debut show. In an untested late night format, chaos reigned with cast fighting, crew revolting and writers stoned. The film showcases the 90 minutes that pushed everyone to get their sh*t together and save their lives.
The film stars Gabriel LaBelle as Lorne Michaels, Rachel Sennott as Rosie Shuster, Cory Michael Smith as Chevy Chase, Ella Hunt as Gilda Radner, Dylan O’Brien as Dan Aykroyd.
At 11:30pm on October 11, 1975, a ferocious troupe of young comedians and writers changed television – and culture – forever. Directed by Jason Reitman and written by Gil Kenan & Reitman, Saturday Night is based on the true story of what happened behind the scenes in the 90 minutes leading up to the first broadcast of Saturday Night Live. Full of humour, chaos, and the magic of a revolution that almost wasn’t, we count down the minutes in real time until we hear those famous words…
The rest of the cast of many includes Emily Fairn, Matt Wood, Lamorne Morris, Kim Matula, Finn Wolfhard, Nicholas Braun, Cooper Hoffman, Andrew Barth Feldman, Kaia Gerber, Tommy Dewey, along with Willem Dafoe, Matthew Rhys, and J.K. Simmons.
Saturday Night doesn’t have UK and Irish release just ‘coming soon.’ As for the U.S it’s looking 11th October.
