Red Heat 4K Ultra HD Release Bring 1980’s Cult Action To 21st Century

Red Heat

Expect a clash of cultures, muscles, sharp one-liners and an explosion of classic 80s action when STUDIOCANAL releases a brand new 4K restoration of the 80s cult action comedy RED HEAT (1988) on Monday 21st October.

The Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, stars as Russian policeman Ivan Danko who is sent after a Georgian drug dealer who has escaped to the United States and is awaiting extradition in Chicago. Once there, he is forced to partner up with a cocky Chicago police detective played by Jim Belushi.

From Walter Hill, writer and director of 48 Hours, RED HEAT is a great twist on the 80s buddy cop genre, Schwarzenegger-style. Hitting shelves just before the UK cinema release of “Terminator: Dark Fate” (Oct. 24), it is the perfect way for fans to get their bonus Arnie-fix.

A mutually uneasy alliance is formed between the stern Captain Ivan Danko of the Moscow Police and his American equivalent, the Chicago Detective Art Ridzik when the latter captures Viktor Rostavili, a dangerous Georgian drug kingpin. With his partner murdered by Viktor’s hands, Ivan lands in Chicago to extradite the crime lord back to Russia. However, when he manages to escape, a frenzied chase in the bustling downtown begins. In the end, to bring down the ruthless criminal, the two reluctant comrades who are worlds apart have to put their differences aside.
