Rami Malek Is ‘Freddie Mercury ‘ In Bohemian Rhapsody First Trailer

The show must go on and finally for the long-awaited Freddie Mercury biopic, the show is finally continuing. Today 20th Century Fox has unveiled the First UK Trailer for Bohemian Rhapsody, the long overdue biopic will it ‘rock you’?.
The film project has been gestating in development/casting hell for nearly 8 plus years. Now the film has taken a giant step towards reality with the release of the trailer. Mr. Robot’s Rami Malek plays the iconic Queen frontman, a role once set up for Borat himself, Sacha Baron Cohen. According to the band’s lead guitarist Brian May Cohen was a ‘bit of an arse’.
It seems his exit from the film all down to the fact, this film may not cover the final days when Mercury was crippled by HIV/AIDs. May whose also a producer for the film wants to protect the band’s legacy rather than the painful death of his friend. One may argue is Bohemian Rhapsody really a ‘biopic’ or as one-time connected director, Bryan Singer called it, a ‘celebration’?
As for the film itself, it will cover the rise of the band from its early days. Capturing those days through the creation of their sound than friends meeting and creating a band. As for Rami Malek as Mercury, he has the look, will he ‘Rock You’ or simply be all ‘Radio Gaga’?
The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury’s lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. In the process, cementing the legacy of a band that were always more like a family, and who continue to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day.
Bohemian Rhapsody will rock you when it’s released in UK and Irish cinemas from 24th October. Co-starring Lucy Boynton, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy, Joseph Mazzello, Aidan Gillen, Allen Leach, Tom Hollander and Mike Myers.
