Pharrell Williams Lego Biopic Piece By Piece To 68th BFI London Film Festival

The 68th BFI London Film Festival will kick off on 9th October until 20th October. The BFI have announced Piece By Piece, the Lego Biopic for Pharrell Williams is set to close the festival.

Directed by documentary filmmaker Morgan Neville (20 Feet From Stardom) telling the story of Williams life all told through the lens of LEGO® animation.

It’s a film that will surprise many people, an unexpected choice. Anyone who attends film festivals around the world will know, those unexpected films majority of the time deliver.

Described as hugely inventive film.  Piece By Piece  is an animated biopic explores the life and work of Pharrell Williams. A medium that Williams himself suggested  to  the director, who describes the choice of LEGO® animation as a metaphor for how Williams see the world, certainly creative approach.

Official Synopsis:
Featuring a star-studded cast rendered in LEGO® alongside Williams, including Jay-Z, Missy Elliot, Gwen Stefani, Busta Rhymes and Snoop Dogg, PIECE BY PIECE charts the cultural phenomenon that is Williams, from humble beginnings in Virginia Beach and his early career as a producer in The Neptunes and performer in N.E.R.D., to become one of the most prolific and successful artists working today.

Bringing PIECE BY PIECE to the LFF means the world to me, and getting to be the closing night gala is the cherry on top of this huge honor. Piece By Piece will be released in UK cinemas on 8th November. It will be closing the festival on 20th October with Neville and Williams confirmed to be in attendance for the gala.

The 68th BFI London Film Festival takes place from 9th October until 20th October. The full festival programme will be revealed on Wednesday 4th September.
