Noah Schnapp says Stranger Things finale will leave people ādevastatedā

As Stranger Things gears up for its final season, the Netflix smash is making its Broadway debut following a successful run on Londonās West End. Stranger Things: the First Shadow is executive produced by Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers and written by series regular Kate Trefry. It takes place in Hawkins, Indiana in 1959, acting as a prequel to the events of the Netflix sensation.
āWe were writing season five as this show was being written and going into workshops,ā explained co-creator Ross Duffer. āThe play starts to tee up things that are going to be big reveals in season five without giving everything away because we want season five to stand on its own, obviously. So, it was a tightrope to walk for sure.ā
Speaking from the Broadway red carpet, series star Noah Schnapp promised that āpeople are going to be truly devastatedā when the Stranger Things saga finally comes to its dramatic end.
He continued: āAs sad as it was, Iām so excited to see the worldās reaction to watching the finale because thereās not going to be a dry eye, itās going to be sad.ā He then jokingly added: āNot to be so negative, it is a really great season and people will love it.ā
Ross Duffer said, āItās the end of a long journey, for everyone who made the show and also for those characters. Itās thrilling and itās our fastest start weāve ever had ā our heroes are in action right now, but I think ultimately, hopefully, itās our most emotional season yet. Those final episodes, the goal is that they hit pretty hard because in a lot of ways itās about the end of this journey weāve all had and also the end of childhood.ā
Director and executive producer Shawn Levy concurred. Recalling the final day of shooting, Levy said, āWe sort of knew that this was the end of a chapter.ā He added: āWe might all go on to great, successful experiences but youāre lucky if you get one Stranger Things in your life. Thatāll never happen again and I think we all know it and all cherish it.ā
The final season of Stranger Things will debut on Netflix later this year.
