Amazon have released the first (teaser) Trailer for Aaron Sonkin‘s Being The Ricardos. Based on the true life drama based around the one and only Lucile Ball and her husband Desi Arnaz.

Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem star as the celeb couple in the middle of the crisis. Sonkin directing his first feature since his award-winning Trial Of The Chicago 7, ironically for Amazon’s great rivals Netflix. Could he do wonders and give Amazon some awards recognition this time?

Jump into the world of I Love Lucy, which sees Lucille Ball (Nicole Kidman) and Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem) encounter a crisis that puts their careers and marriage in jeopardy. Set during 1952 and a make or break episode of the show with their personalities, production and politics, personal life threaten to destroy everything.

I Love Lucy was a worldwide popular TV show. It was essential viewing  even here in the UK, this was an era the small and big screen wasn’t plague with violence. Nor was there Netflix or even Prime Video and the celebs were real, not your reality show wannabes… It was a simpler life.

The trailer doesn’t reveal much, a more typical Sonkin style promo, rants, rants and rants. We only get a glimpse of Kidman as the iconic actress, intriguing to see how things go…

The film also stars J.K. Simmons, Jake Lacy, Nina Arianda, Alia Shawkat, Linda Lavin, Clark Gregg, and Tony Hale.

Being The Ricardos will be released in select UK and Irish cinemas on 10th December. The film then will be released exclusively on Amazon Prime Video from 21st December.
