New Epic Apple TV+ Sci-Fi Series Invasion…Makes

Invasion (2021)

If you’re going to play a part in the Streaming wars you have to go big and Apple will in Invasion. They are taking the blockbuster approach for their sci-fi drama series and today we get a brand new Trailer.

This 10 part series comes from Jakob Verbruggen (The Alienist, The Fall) directing along with executive producer. Simon Kinberg (X-Men & Deadpool franchise) is onboard with David Weil (Hunters) writing and producing the series.

Like any invasion film or show, the ultimate inspiration will always be H.G Wells War Of The Worlds. Many have tried and succeeded others have fallen at the first attempt. This one doesn’t go for the generic based in one city by going for something global. We are not alone and everyone will be affected. Extraterrestrial beings have made their way to Earth from across the universe. Civilization could collapse. And survival is up to you. We see the story through the eyes of many as they try to navigate a terrifying new reality infested by lethal aliens.

As they have said the past few years, Television or streaming services are seen as the ‘new cinema’. Apple look to have splash the cash to get that blockbuster look and what we are seeing we are intrigued.

From Academy Award-nominated and two-time Emmy Award-nominated producer Simon Kinberg and David Weil, “Invasion” is a sweeping, character-driven science fiction drama series that follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world. Set across multiple continents.

The series stars Shamier Anderson (Awake), Golshifteh Farahani (Extraction), Sam Neill (Jurassic World: Dominion), Firas Nassar (Fauda), and Shioli Kutsuna (The Outsider).

Invasion will premiere globally on Apple TV+ from Friday, 22nd October 2021 with the first three episodes.
