Netflix Unveils New Trailer For Alex Garland’s Annihilation

Oh wait a minute wasn’t this meant to be released in cinemas?” , the answer is Yes it was. This weekend over in the U.S.A, Alex Garland’s sci-fi Fantasy Annihilation, but here in Blighty Netflix will do the honours.

Next month the movie will arrive next month here and the Streaming giants have released a new Trailer to promote the film. Natalie Portman stars as biologist Lena s an expedition into a mysterious region sealed off by the U.S. government after her husband vanishes during a secret mission…

The past 6 months many films have been finding themselves on Netflix like this one. Red Flags usually go up when we find movies moving over, this time no need to worry. With the advantage of the U.S release tomorrow, we can read the reviews and majority a very positive. All highlighting the unsettling surreal tone we witnessed in the earlier trailers. This trailer delivers that tone, with a little more unseen footage.

With the movie now at a new home will that affect the chances of a potential trilogy? The movie is based on the acclaimed best-selling Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff VanderMeer.

Lena, a biologist, and former soldier s a mission to uncover what happened to her husband inside Area X – a sinister and mysterious phenomenon that is expanding across the American coastline. Once inside, the expedition discovers a world of mutated landscape and creatures, as dangerous as it is beautiful, that threatens both their lives and their sanity.
