Meet The Real Dr Omalu In New Concussion Featurettes

Next month will see the release of Will Smith’s drama Concussion in UK cinemas in a real David Versus Goliath battle. A battle of health of assets over profits of assets and to celebrate that release we a have a couple of new featurettes including one we meet the real Dr Omalu.
In Concussion Smith plays Dr. Bennet Omalu, the brilliant forensic neuropathologist who made the first discovery of CTE, a sports-related brain trauma, in a pro player and fought for the truth to be known. Omalu’s emotional quest puts him at dangerous odds with one of the most powerful and beloved institutions in the world.
The past 20 years in many sports worldwide to many athletes have died when in reality they shouldn’t have. Whilst the story is set around American football the real-life story has and still is having an impact around the world. Here in UK Rugby and even football have seen their fair share of dreadful injuries however it does seem we have a more ‘caring’ approach to our superstars (though I’m sure our sports suffered the same agro).
This film will always going to be a controversial film Stateside as you’ll see a Judge say to Omalu in one of the clips. ‘This is the sport that bought the one day of the week, the day that used to belong to God’. It’s a powerful statement, but one that highlights the megalomaniac power NFL has on USA, a true David Versus Goliath battle!
In the second featurette called ‘Thriller‘ it showcases the epic battle Omalu is up against with glimspes of how far the American football league was willing to go to stop him, with the clip ‘Boogie Man‘ the league releasing their ‘trump card’ for get rid of snoopers.
Concussion is set for 12th February UK release date co-starring Alec Baldwin, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Albert Brooks, Luke Wilson, Paul Reiser, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
