In 11 days time we’ll finally able to watch Season One of The Witcher on Netflix. Since it’s announcement a few years back, it’s been seen as the show to fill the empty void left by Game Of Thrones. A tall order for the Netflix Original series, though the streaming giants have faith in the show. With an second season already confirmed there’s hope this show will deliver.

The series is based on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski, with Henry Cavill leading the cast as Geralt of Rivia. Every character has an in depth back story, which we should learn over the season. Netflix want us to get an appreciation of the lead characters and created 3 new Featurettes. The 3 videos give you a taster of the back stories of Geralt of Rivia, Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan), and Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra).

Based on the best-selling fantasy series of books, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

Henry Cavill  leads the cast of The Witcher saga  alongside other main cast , Anya ChalotraFreya Allan. Other cast include Jodhi May, Björn Hlynur HaraldssonAdam Levy,  MyAnna Buring, Mimi NdiweniTherica Wilson-Read, and Emma AppletonEamon Farren , Joey Batey , Lars Mikkelsen , Royce Pierreson and, Maciej Musiał.

All eight episodes of the season one will be released at once.

The Witcher will launch globally on Netflix on 20th December 2019.
