The Long Awaited First Trailer For Walter Salles ON THE ROAD

Pardon the expression it’s certainly been a very long road but the now Walter Salles ON THE ROAD has now got a UK&Irish release date, poster and now tonight its first trailer!!!

Based on the iconic generation defining Jack Kerouac  novel that has inspired generations, changed popular American culture and even today the novel is a power of strength probably why Kerouac’s name is above the director. Though Walter Salles isn’t any slouch, he is the director behind such films as The Motorcycle Diaries, Dark Water, as wells Oscar nominated Central Station.

On The Road stars Sam Riley as Sal who is Kerouac’s alter ego the narrator, Garrett Hedlund as the iconic Dean Moriarty with Kristen Stewart as Marylou Moriarty’s young wife who all embark on a epic journey across USA. As we like to say in football (or soccer to Americans) ‘It’s a game of 2 halves’ this trailer is like that famous saying. First half showcasing the beatnik vibe of the story,the music whilst the rest of the trailer showing of the poetic, insightful side of the film. For 30 years Francis Ford Copolla owned the rights so it was no surprise to see he was one of the producers, but thankfully 5 years on we creep cloder to the films release, so pack a bag hitch a ride as it’s time to discover the real you.

Co-starring Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen, Terrence Howard, Tom Sturridge, Danny Morgan, Alice Braga, Steve Buscemi and Elisabeth Moss. As I said earlier only UK&Ireland have a confirmed date of 21 September, however the film is likely to play during the Cannes Film Festival this May so expect a American release date to follow.
