First Trailer For Acclaimed British Indie Drama Lollipop Arrives

MetFilm Distribution has unveiled the trailer and poster for the independent drama Lollipop, which you can watch below!
From writer/director Daisy-May Hudson, Lollipop stars Posy Sterling, Idil Ahmed and Terriann Cousins and tells the story of a young mum, Molly (Sterling), who is released from prison after serving four months, and assumes it will be a matter of hours before she can pick up her children from foster care. Instead, Molly finds herself in the mother of all catch-22s: she can’t get housing because she doesn’t have her kids living with her, but she can’t get them back without a roof over her head.
When Molly reconnects with her childhood friend, and fellow single mother, Amina (Ahmed), the two women forces and take destiny into their own hands. Lollipop is a film about finding joy in life’s hardest moments, and what it means to have the courage to fight for your family, even when you feel like you’ve got nothing left.
Set in East-London and backed by BBC FILM and the BFI (awarding National Lottery funding), the film marks BAFTA-Breakthrough Daisy-May Hudson’s scripted feature film debut, and follows her award-winning documentary HALF WAY, which captured her family’s experiences of homelessness over a two-year period. Lollipop is rooted in the same level of authenticity and lived experience, and features a powerhouse central performance from newcomer Posy Sterling.
You can watch the trailer below:
Lollipop opens in UK cinemas on June 13th.
