shame

On Day 3 of the 55th BFI London Film Festival, Steve McQueen’s Shame, starring Michael Fassbender, had its UK premiere. Prolific documentary filmmaker Nick Broomfield also presented the UK premiere of his latest endeavour, Sarah Palin: You Betcha. Seth Rogen and Will Reiser took part in a live streamed Q&A at BFI Southbank, presented in conjunction with YouTube, and finally the Filmmakers Tea series launched at the May Fair Hotel.

Brandon is a 30-something man living in New York who is unable to manage his sex life. After his wayward younger sister moves into his apartment, Brandon’s world spirals out of control. From director Steve McQueen (Hunger), Shame is a compelling and timely examination of the nature of need, how we live our lives and the experiences that shape us.

Today’s vodcast includes brief interviews with Shame’s Steve McQueen, Michael Fassbender, Sarah Palin: You Betcha Nick Broomfield, along with short chats with 50/50’s Seth Rogen. We also meet filmmakers Rungano Nyoni (Mwansa The Great) and Nick Brandestini (Darwin).
