Kinky Action To Grimy Horror Make Up Arrow Video May Slate

We maybe in March, vying for those warmer sunny days of Spring and Summer. Arrow Video tease us with their May slate. The releases will include a berserk B-movie VHS favourite, the debut of a US sci-fi mindbender, a freshly unearthed 80s creature feature, a collector’s edition of two superb American indie horrors, and a superior, twist-packed crime chiller.
First off in May is White Fire, starring exploitation legends Robert Ginty (The Exterminator) and Fred Williamson (From Dusk ‘Til Dawn). Ginty, with Belinda Mayne (Krull) play jewel thieves who target the legendary ‘White Fire’ diamond — a priceless rock so hot it actually burns those who try to lay their hands on it! Erotic filmmaker Jean-Marie Pallardy (Erotic Diary of a Lumberjack) brings his kinky touch to high octane action in this infamous exploitation epic, complete with chainsaw mayhem, awkward brotherly love, and a very ‘80s theme song by the band Limelight!
It’s time to ‘Walk a mile in someone else’ in Empathy, Inc, a tech thriller starring Zack Robdis (Succession), Kathy Searle (The Good Guy), Eric Berryman, (Marriage Story) and Jay Klaitz (Jessica Jones). With shades of Pi, The Twilight Zone and Primer and exploring themes of identity crisis, poverty tourism and the greed of humanity, Empathy, Inc. is a twisted virtual reality chiller for the modern tech age that will really get under your skin.
Terror strikes in paradise in Blood Tide, as Academy Award-winning actors James Earl Jones, José Ferrer and Lila Kedrova star in this thrilling tale of sea monsters and sacrificial virgins. Written and produced by Nico Mastorakis – the man behind such genre favourites as the notorious Island of Death, The Zero Boys, The Wind and many others – and directed by Richard Jefferies (Scarecrows, Tron: Legacy), Blood Tide is a suspense-filled creature feature surging with blood, nudity and beachside aerobics!
Next up in May is a double dose of good and grimy horror, with a Limited Edition release of The Woman and Offspring. Almost a decade after McKee burst upon the indie horror scene with his directorial debut May, he teamed up with legendary cult author Jack Ketchum for his most shocking and brutal film to date: The Woman, an instant cause célèbre on its Sundance premiere. Starring Pollyanna McIntosh, (The Walking Dead), Sean Bridgers (Room) and Angela Bettis (May), this uncompromisingly twisted vision of the dark side of the American family is presented in a definitive new edition, including a 4K remaster, brand new bonus features, and a bonus disc featuring a brand new restoration of its gut-churning 2009 predecessor Offspring, also starring McIntosh.
Dream Demon, long dormant on home media since its original VHS release, has at long-last been stirred from its analogue slumber thanks to Arrow Video, and arrives on Blu-ray, newly-restored from the original camera negative and in a brand new Director’s Cut! A young bride-to-be’s anxieties over her wedding take on a horrifying, demonic form in this underseen 1988 “rubber reality” shocker from director/co-writer Harley Cokeliss (Black Moon Rising), starring Timothy Spall, Jemma Redgrave, and Jimmy Nail.
Finally in May comes I See You, a new twist-heavy thriller from up-and-coming British director Adam Randall (iBoy), described by the Hollywood Reporter as “a finely crafted exercise in slow-burn suspense”. Jon Tenney (True Detective) and Academy Award® winner Helen Hunt (As Good As It Gets), star in this eerie gem, packed with audacious plot twists, beautifully orchestrated narrative flips and an outstanding lead performance by Hunt.
