Jude Law To Play Young Dumbledore In Fantastic Beasts 2!

With the first Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them now out to own, Potterheads got excited and rightly so. Fantastic Beasts maybe set nearly 90 years before The Boy Wizard but when the movie started name dropping fans got anxiously over excited and today Warner Bros answered those calls. Albus Dumbledore, the iconic heaster, mentor, grand wizard of Hogwarts will be in Fantastic Beasts Where To Find Them 2 and Jude Law will play the role!

JK Rowling‘s archetypal great wizard has had many from Richard Harris, Michael Gambon, even a young Toby Regbo played Dumbledore in Deathly Hallows. Now he’s adult 30-40s Oscar-nominated actor Jude Law will take up the role. The news was announced today by Warner Bros.In the much-anticipated new Wizarding World film, Law will portray Dumbledore long before the iconic wizard became the Heaster at Hogwarts, as he has been known in the Harry Potter books and movies. We meet him decades earlier when Dumbledore is still serving as the wizarding school’s Transfiguration professor. He is also a contemporary of Gellert Grindelwald (played by Johnny Depp), the charismatic dark wizard who believes wizards are superior to Muggles and No-Majs.

The first movie marked JK Rowling‘s first time scripting and she has also written the second movie script too. The story moves deeper into an increasingly dark time for the wizarding world, where Newt Scamander and our other heroes have to decide on their allegiances.

David Yates who directed the first movie, as well as many of the Harry Potter movies, will be back for this and commented on Jude Law ing the cast D, “Jude Law is a phenomenally talented actor whose work I have long ired, and I’m looking forward to finally having the opportunity to work with him. I know he will brilliantly capture all the unexpected facets of Albus Dumbledore as J.K. Rowling reveals this very different time in his life.”

Principal photography for Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them 2 is set to start sometime during the Summer with the movie set for release on November 16th, 2018.
