Joachim Trier’s The Worst Person In The World Coming To MUBI

Christmas may only be a few weeks away, but so is 2022. Back in the summer Boutique streaming service and Distributor MUBI bought the UK and Irish rights, to The Worst Person In The World. Today they have announced Joachim Trier‘s acclaimed film will it’s theatrical release date in March 2022.
The Worst Person In The World is the third film in director Joachim Trier’s Oslo Trilogy, following Reprise (2006) and Oslo, 31 August (2011). Featuring the phenomenal rising star Renate Reinsve (Oslo, August 31st, The Orheim Company), Anders Danielsen Lie (Reprise, 22 July) and Herbert Nordrum, the film premiered in competition at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, with Reinsve winning the award for Best Actress. It has since been selected as the Norwegian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards®.
Norwegian film director Joachim Trier is best known for his feature films Louder Than Bombs (2015), Thelma (2017) and the Oslo Trilogy. His first feature length film Reprise, the first of the Oslo Trilogy, was selected as Norway’s submission for the Academy Award® for Best Foreign Language Film in 2006.

Julie is turning thirty and her life is an existential mess. Several of her talents have gone to waste and her older boyfriend, Aksel – a successful graphic novelist – is pushing for them to settle down. One night, she gatecrashes a party and meets the young and charming Eivind. Before long, she has broken up with Aksel and thrown herself into yet another new relationship, hoping for a new perspective on her life. But she will come to realize that some life choices are already behind her.
MUBI will release The Worst Person In The World in UK and Irish cinemas from 25th March 2022.
