James Badge Dale To Play Iron Man 3 Villain Eric Savin

We’re only weeks away from Shane Blacks Iron Man 3 starting production and already taking some shape.Already we know regulars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, and Don Cheadle will all return with Sir Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce and Rebecca Hall all set to too and tonight  Variety are reporting they have the villain (or one of the villains) for the film, James Badge Dale is to play that part. The report states that the Shame/The Grey star is set to play Eric Savin who is also known as Coldblood a character which was introduced to Marvel comic universe back in the 1980’s he was  a Lieutenant Colonel of the US army in charge of Project Ultra but stood in a landmine.He was reconstructed by cybernetic surgery becoming a mercenary, you could say Marvel’s very own Robocop.

The rumours have been rife that Sir Ben Kingsley is to play villain Mandarin which would tie in nicely with the Warren Ellis  Iron Man : Extremis technology  involving  nanotechnology and the spread of a virus which Mandarin gets his hands on the technology which is also part of Iron Man Suits recovery process. Savin is one of the minor villains  but film been film we’ve seen before in the past minor characters becoming major players however we’ll assume  Iron Man will have a bigger nemesis to deal with as we see possibly Savin as character  which could be used in the same way Agent Fury has been used as currently in the films..

With production only weeks away things should come clearer very shortly who is or isn’t in the cast and if they are what character they might be playing. James Badge Dale would be a excellent addition to the cast impressed us all as Michael Fassbender’s boss in Shame not forgetting last winter’s surprise hit The Grey with Liam Neeson. The next 12 months are going to be a busy affair with The Lone Ranger , Brad Pitt’s zombie fest World War Z , Robert Zemeckis Flight  so his involvement in a big comicbook franchise will only helo his credentials in the acting world and over time should see himself landing a lead role.
