In Uncle Frank Trailer Paul Bettany Is Tired Of Running

Amazon Studios have unveiled the Official Trailer for Alan Ball‘s dramedy Uncle Frank starring Paul Bettany as our titular character. An 1970’s based road trip movie of a man having to face his past, after running for years he’s tired and reveal his secret.
IT/Sharp Objects star Sophia Lillis plays teen Beth who heads to New York state to go to university. It also happens to be where her beloved Uncle Frank (Bettany) also stays and is a professor at the university. She quickly learns he’s gay and living secret with his long time partner. He must head home as his father has died and face the past he’s been running away from a long time.
A road movie with humour and drama, not forgetting an dysfunctional family thrown into the mix. If that ticks all your boxes check this one out…

In 1973, teenaged Beth Bledsoe (Sophia Lillis) leaves her rural Southern hometown to study at New York University where her beloved Uncle Frank (Paul Bettany) is a revered literature professor. She soon discovers that Frank is gay, and living with his longtime partner Walid “Wally” Nadeem (Peter Macdissi) — an arrangement that he has kept secret for years. After the sudden death of Frank’s father — Beth’s grandfather — Frank is forced to reluctantly return home for the funeral with Beth in tow, and to finally face a long-buried trauma that he has spent his entire adult life running away from.
The cast also includes Peter Macdissi, Judy Greer, Steve Zahn, Lois Smith, with Margo Martindale and Stephen Root. Allan Ball (American Beauty, True Blood) directs this one.
Uncle Frank will be released on Amazon Prime from 25th November.
