In First Gladiator 2 Trailer “Rage Is Your Gift”

“Rage is your gift” as Paramount Pictures release the first UK Trailer for Gladiator 2. Starring Paul Mescal battling, Denzel Washington and a battle with a rhino!
After Alien many cinephiles will say Gladiator was one of Sir Ridley Scott’s best films. Regardless of your opinions on the historical epic it won 5 Oscars, did you expect a sequel? probably not. 24 years on we go back into the lions den (or should it be Rhino’s den) for some sandals and swords action.
In Gladiator 2, Paul Mescal is Lucius the young boy who watched his father die at hands of his uncle, emperor Lucius Verus (Joaquin Phoenix). Years on, the boy becomes the gladiator all thanks to tyranny in Rome.
Should there be a sequel to Gladiator? Possibly not. However we do live in a world, sequels, prequels and reboots shape cinema. When you watch the trailer which has blood soaked Rhinos, water filled and shark infested coliseums, it’s worth a look! Especially when Denzel Washington is hamming it up in robes as Lucius sponsor (a role played by Olivier Reed in the original)
From legendary director Ridley Scott, Gladiator II continues the epic saga of power, intrigue, and vengeance set in Ancient Rome. Years after witnessing the death of the revered hero Maximus at the hands of his uncle, Lucius (Paul Mescal) is forced to enter the Colosseum after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors who now lead Rome with an iron fist. With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find strength and honor to return the glory of Rome to its people.
The film also stars Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi, with Connie Nielsen. Gladiator 2 will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 15th November.
