In City Of Lies Trailer Who Shot Biggie?

For various reasons things can easily get lost in the crowd, like Brad Furman’s City Of Lies film. 3 years after the film was made, it’s finally getting a release and Saban Films release a new (U.S.) Official Trailer.

Starring Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker, the crime thriller based around the investigations into the murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious BIG. Depp plays LAPD detective Russell Poole who spent a couple decades attempting to solve the case. Exactly 24 years later (9th March 1997) Biggie’s case is still opened, Poole teams up with Jack Jackson (Whitaker) a reporter attempting save his career and unravel the conspiracy and corruption that lies at the foundation.

The film has been plagued with problems, more about the release rather than production. Lawsuits, Biggie’s mother were mentioned as reasons for the delays. Even Depp’s recent troubles got thrown into the fire, the burning question will be, for Biggie’s family will their be a closure and the truth revealed?

Los Angeles Police Department detective Russell Poole has spent years trying to solve his biggest case – the murders of The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur – but after two decades, the investigation remains open. Jack Jackson, a reporter desperate to save his reputation and career, is determined to find out why. In search of the truth, the two team up and unravel a growing web of institutional corruption and lies.

The cast also includes Toby Huss, Dayton Callie, Neil Brown Jr., Shea Whigham, Xander Berkeley, Melanie Benz, Shamier Anderson, Christian George, and Michael Paré.

There is no word on when or if City Of Lies will get an UK or Irish release. Saban Films will release the film in the U.S on 19th March in cinemas with the film released digitally on 9th April.
