Official Synopsis:

When five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they’re forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer.. and is hell-bent on revenge. As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help.

Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, Sarah Pidgeon, Billy Campbell, Gabbriette Bechtel, Austin Nichols, Lola Tung, Nicholas Alexander Chavez star in the film, with Freddie Prinze Jr., and Jennifer Love Hewitt returning to reprise their roles from the first two films. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) directs the film.

First released in 1997, I Know What You Did Last Summer starred Love Hewitt, Prinze Jr, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ryan Phillipe and was a huge hit, grossing over $ 125 million from its $ 17 million budget. Jim Gillespie directed from a script written by Scream creator Kevin Williamson. It spawned a 1998 sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, which featured Love Hewitt and Prinze Jnr alongside Brandy and Mekhi Pfeifer and grossed $ 84 million. A direct-to-video third film came in 2006.

Similarly to legacy sequels Scream and Halloween before it (or requel as the kids call it), the film confusingly shares the same name as the original.

I Know What You Did Last Summer is released in cinemas on July 18th.
