HBO Casts Its Snape, Dumbledore, More For Harry Potter Series

Harry Potter TV Series coming to HBO

The first cast have been cast for the Harry Potter HBO TV series.

Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, who was portrayed by Robbie Coltrane.

Luke Thallon will also be in the recurring role of Quirinus Quirrell, with Paul Whitehouse as Argus Finch.Whitehouse is the only member of this show who has appeared in the Harry Potter films. He played Sir Cadogan in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban.

Showrunner and executive producer sca Gardiner and director and executive producer Mark Mylod confirmed the casting, saying: “We’re delighted to have such extraordinary talent onboard, and we can’t wait to see them bring these beloved characters to new life.”

These are the first confirmed actors for the series, with the main roles of Harry, Ron and Hermione having not yet been revealed.

HBO launched an open casting call in the autumn of last year, with over 30,000 submissions. It will begin filming in the summer.

The series is written and executive produced by Gardiner. Mylod will executive produce and direct multiple episodes of the series for HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television.

It is executive produced by J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
