Hayley Atwell Addresses Avengers: Doomsday/Peggy Carter Rumours

With Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning currently going great guns in cinemas, it’s no surprise that star Hayley Atwell has been asked about her other big franchise, notably the MCU and whether rumours of her reappearance in the new Avengers films could be true.

In 2024, it was reported that Atwell WAS due to return as Peggy Carter, appearing in Avengers: Doomsday, but since then, things have gone a little cold and she was not part of the roster of actors announced in a livestream earlier this year – although, she wasn’t the only one missing.

Speaking to Collider, she responded to being asked about the rumours with:

“Really? What? Who? On Reddit? Who’s doing that? Who is saying that?”

Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Tom Hiddleston, Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Tenoch Huerta, Simu Liu, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, Channing Tatum, Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart lead the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, as they do battle with Robert Downey Jnr’s Doctor Doom.

We await news if fellow Avengers such as Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Brie Larson, Mark Ruffalo, Elizabeth Olsen, Don Cheadle, Chris Pratt or Samuel L. Jackson, or younger ones like Hailee Steinfeld, Iman Vellani or Dominique Thorne, will also return.
