Harry And Sally Return: Billy Crystal & Meg Ryan Recreate Famous Scene For Super-Bowl Ad

Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan reunite

Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan are back where it all started, recreating the legendary deli scene from When Harry Met Sally in a new Super Bowl ad for Hellmann’s mayonnaise. The spot, filmed at the iconic Katz’s Delicatessen in New York—where the original 1989 romcom scene was shot—brings the magic of the moment to life once again, but with a hilarious twist.

In this close replica, Sally’s famous orgasmic response is now triggered by the addition of Hellmann’s mayonnaise to her sandwich. The memorable moment ends with a nod to the original line, “I’ll have what she’s having,” but this time, Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney delivers it in place of Estelle Reiner, who famously uttered the line in the 1989 film.

Directed by Jake Szymanski, the ad opens with Harry (Crystal) remarking, “I can’t believe they let us back in this place,” to which Sally (Ryan) asks why. His response—“Hello…”—refers to the infamous scene where Sally is seen ionately enjoying her meal. When Sally is dissatisfied with her sandwich, she adds a generous amount of Hellmann’s mayo, reigniting her delight.

“The opportunity to return to Katz’s Deli with Meg was a no-brainer,” Crystal said in a statement introducing the ment. (via ABCNews)

“Thanks to Hellmann’s, who came up with the concept and wrote a really funny spot, we’re bringing some laughs and nostalgia and helping When Harry Met Sally celebrate its 35th Anniversary during the Big Game this year,” Crystal continued.

Ryan added in a statement, “Reuniting with Billy and stepping back into Sally’s shoes was a joy.”
