The event quickly spirals into chaos when a highly organized terrorist group, led by a ruthless yet magnetic figure played by Antony Starr, launches a violent attack. The People’s Movies sat down with director Patricia Riggen and actor Douglas Hodge to dive into the making of G20 and explore the political threads woven into the action. Riggen opened up about the challenges of crafting a compelling villain in an action-thriller, the impact of patriarchy on the genre, and how, in her words, “Viola Davis could kick Antony Starr’s a** anytime.”

Douglas Hodge, who plays British Prime Minister Oliver Everett, discussed his character’s journey, from being sceptical of President Sutton’s leadership to learning to trust her instincts as they navigate the war zone together. G20 is a gripping political action-thriller led by a powerhouse performance from Viola Davis and backed by a strong ensemble cast.
